HQI photoperiod questions

I have just ordered the coralife aqualight pro. Right now i have 3 24" compact flourescents running 10 hrs a day. Can anyone give me suggestions on adjusting my photoperiod. These lights come with independant switches for the 2 65w actinics and the 1 10k 150w HQI. I have no experiance with halides yet and i know some people turns their actinics and halides on at different times. Any help would be appreciated.

At first you are going to want to adjust your corals to the new lighting. To do that safely without damageing your corals, I would suggest to have the halides on the first day for 2 hours. After those two hours turn them off.
Then everyday after that leave the lights on 30 minutes longer. Do that each day until you reach your lighting times.

I have my actinics on 30 minutes before the halides come on, and have them on 30 minutes after the halides go out.

I run my halides 8 hours, and my VHO actinics for almost 12. Seems to work fine. Like mentioned above, you are going to have to ease into it since you are doing a major upgrade.
