Huge Bubble Algae in Tank

Yesterday I spotted two huge (about an inch in diameter) bubble algae in the main tank. I'm sure sooner or later they are going to burst and get everywhere.

How can I get these guys out w/out popping them?

Heh... you ain't see nothing yet:

They are actually rather easy to pull out... But I would recommend removing rock and then removing them...

i would remove the rock first as well then just pick that bugger off :p

I can't remove the rock, it's impossible due to the way it's sitting and all the coral on top.

So that being said, if I gently pull on the bubble, will it come off in one piece?

DHOCH - that is one hugeeee @$^#^#%^&@#^ :)

If your tank is in good shape and since you have your fuge they will usually not take over your tank. I have a couple here and there and to be honest I really like the way they look. The larger ones develop a silvery shiny skin and almost look 'alien' in the tank. They pop from time to time but I never have had more than two or three in the tank at a time. Chances are that there has been bubble algae in your tank since day 1, it was just never in the open so you could see it.

I don't mind them either, but I'm not sure if they can harm corals or not. If they don't, then they can stay there, I don't care.
