Can you please explain what the purpose of the "expansion socket" is? Does it plug into a power bar to split a single socket into two sockets?

Hi

the expansion box has two sockets on it but they switch together not independently. The purpose of the unit is to take the load off the main power bar for items such as chillers or other high amp devices.

There are two AC leads on the expansion socket.

Lead #1 is the control lead this plugs into the 6 socket power bar and you program the power bar as you normally would do to switch that socket on and off, just as if the high load was connected directly to the 6 socket power bar. This switched line acts as a signal line to the high amp relays inside the expansion socket and thus triggering an On event or off event

Lead #2 Plugs into any wall socket preferably not the same as the 6 socket power bar, this is the AC feed that power the two expansion sockets.

And thus you have isolated a high amp load away from the main power bar and able to run safely high amp devices without risk of overload.
