ok so my problem is this

my girl friends tank has been having some dye off problems, first a coal beauty died, it wasnt eating, next one of her clown flish died, it would swim up and down in the corner of the tank and eat upside down, just really didnt ever leave the corner and now her blue hippo tang is acting very strange, its not going into the rock it usually hides in, and it usually hides from people and wont even move when people walk by, any thoughts on what this might be?

Can you give us more info on the tank? Size, how long has it been set up, water paremeters, etc..

yea its a 55 its been set up for i want to say 1.5 yrs, undetectable levels of, well just about every thing, theres no way its a chemical imbalance or malnutrition

You could try posting this in the Reef Discussions Forum.. You might get more responses. Can you list all your water Parmeters?

Fish can die from many reasons.

1. Water chemical quality cause by filtration or cycling problems
2. Gaseous exchange problem
3 Slow progressing diseases due to poor nutrition and/or water chemical quality
4. acute diseases such as ich and external bacterial infection.

Poor water quality and/or lack of disease control measures are frequently the cause of death of once healthy fish; ie at the time you get them.

Some fish have little chance for long life at captivity because of the way it was captured or treated in the wholesaler.
