Nice pics & a pretty female (pretty sure), though if the ones around you are anything like the ones here, you might try just standing on the other side of the screen and not moving too much. I just sit and watch in a chair with a brew and snap away. They couldn't care less.
Even if I never get a good shot, I still have fun sitting and watching them.

thanks,thats a cool pic,they are usually pretty brave but today the wind was really kicking and they were skiddish and would just fly over and sit on the feeder then zoom off.i will try to get a few better pics tomorrow
My camera is nowhere near as good as yours but I just found a hummingbird nest in a plum tree on the patio. I managed to remove the window screen carefully above and take a few pics...2 eggs. I love the one above in midflight. These little guys are extremely territorial and it's fun to watch them dogfight and breakneck speed.
