Hybrid clown eggs.

Last year i bought what i thought were cinamon clowns being mis-sold as tomato's. i thought the male looked like he had juvenile colouration. since then both have the same colouration as when i bought them and have spawned last week. since posting pictures on another forum i have been reliably informed that the female is indeed a cinamon clown but the male is a tomato.

Has anyone had any success raising the offspring of this combination? the eggs are developing well, and i reckon they will hatch in the next 2 days.

has anyone raised any hybridised clowns?

thanks guys!!!

I've raised the offspring of a female tomato and male cinnamon. They seemed to have a problem with die-off during the first few hours after hatching no matter what I did, but I'm not convinced that was a result of the "mixed pair," as there were other variables. I still have several that are a few months old now. They look like tomatoes to me...

nice one fish boy!!! :D

yep, my male has identical colouration.

how many did you manage to raise to full size?

do they all look the same?

good work!!

All of them look the same as far as I can tell. I think there were ~12 fish that made it from that batch--not very good numbers, but I wanted to see what the juveniles would look like. With so few fish, they are fairly aggressive amongst each other.

I had a pair male tomato, female cinamon,

Like Matt i also experienced massive loss during the first hour after hatching, still managed to raise too many of them from several spawns.

This is how mine look:
