I have a broke, koralia 4 that the LFS said Id have to talk to the manufacturer.
I sent them an email a week ago, and called several days, yet no response.
Does anybody have any experience with them, and how do I get someone on the phone?

You are contacting the wrong person, or not going directly to the RIGHT person... Here contact this guy, I had a replacement to my door in exactly 1 week.

Frank Moore
Hydro USA
fmoore@hydor.com

It took a week but I got an email responce and RMA and was able to get a K4 replaced, total time took several weeks. I did have proof of purchase. I think it was Hydor, attn: Frank Moore the US distributor in Sacramento if my memory is correct.

i just had my k5's replaced and it took awhile just call them over and over until they answer i started my RMA in december and they had lost there main Customer support rep and it was my understanding that you need to talk to someone personally so call over and over...

thanks guys Ill see if this will get me somewhere. I do know cust support with tunze was great, so hope hydor follows suit

I would have to say i gave up at week 3 and threw them away but the guy explained he would honor the warranty and 2 weeks later he replied with pumps at my door and they seem fine but it has only been 2 weeks, they seem like better flow than the retail ones I purchased but only time will tell, I do know I am no longer getting shocked like the original one did!!
and i cannot find his emails sorry but they will take care i hope they did me!!

Still no response via email or phone
I shouldnt have to go through this much headache, think I may be sold on tunze next time
Bad customer support imo

found one, its under our location and not the contact us link on their website.
and they say 2 year warranty, just so everyone knows.

who has a phone number for these guys?

Hi Big Red,

Just spoke with Hydor. They were at some big trade show in Orlando until yesterday. They said they were only caught up to Feb 10th with e-mails, and they would probably get to yours today. They did say there were no voice mails about your pump though, so I don't know what to say about that?

You are asking for a phone #, what # have you been calling? They said they have no messages from anyone that matches your issue.

Pretty sure Frank is gone from Hydor and they have been scrambling to get caught up on his e-mail files.

As has been their policy since day one, all Hydor products have a two-year warranty. Just box it up, send it back, and they usually replace it under warranty. Like most companies, they need to get the product back first so they can look for modifications, abuse, etc. I just got a new pair of $400 Leupold binoculars as warranty repair, but I had to send the broken binocs back to them first.

They told me a funny (not really) story about a K2 they got back several months ago for warranty repair. It was solid crusted up with algae, missing both impeller washers, and full of coral sand. They cleaned everything up with tap water, put the correct washers in, and the pump has been running fine ever since :)

Their address is:

Hydor USA, Inc.
4147 Northgate Blvd #6
Sacramento, CA 95834
(916) 920-5222 Phone

No RTA required, just a copy of the sales receipt or packing slip or anything showing where you bought it from a Hydor dealer.

Hope this helps!

well, sent them the pump a week ago, did not get any confirmation that they received it, or a replacement yet. So we will see if they come through.
thanks everyone for input.
no frank is not there anymore.

Glad to hear it worked out for ya! I had great luck with them twice and was a little confused at first when you were having such a hard time. Glad everything worked out in the end!

My experience:

I bought a Koralia 1 from SoCal Tropical Fish about 6 weeks ago, and for the last couple weeks I have been having problems with the prop just stop spinnign and having to hit it with my finger to get it going again. I called Tom and he said contact Hydor if they give you a problem call me back and ill take care of it.

So Last Friday i called Hydor and explained the problem I was having and they took all my information and said they would send out a new pump. Being a little weary since they didnt want my pump back first or anything I didnt think one would show up. Just now the Door bell rang and heres my brand new K1. With nothing in there to return the old pump, I just called them and they stated don't worry about the old pump just toss it they dont need it back. A++++ in my book!
