The main difference besides the built-in wifi is they removed one white per puck and added an extra blue. Also, you get the ability to run channels over 100% intensity on the HDs. Each channel has a specific maximum over 100% you can run it, but within that boundary it depends on what you run each channel at and the overall power you are currently using. (Maybe you don't run whites high, but want blues higher over 100%, etc.)

The director will not work with the new HDs either, you have to use the built-in wifi control. It works ok, but IMO, the director was a better control module, especially with multiple units.

Thanks guys. I am ditching AI altogether and going with the new radions. Biting the bullet!

If that's the case then you should also consider the GHL Mitra 6200HV's. They are $699 right now and like Radion's on steroids. They have higher output and great control. They also diffuse the LED channels better so you don't see different color LED's reflected in the tank. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Radion's but the Mitra's as an insanely good light and have better spread and higher output than the Radion's. If I had my choice between the two, it would be a no brainier for me. I'd go with the Mitra's. They are German made and very high quality lights at a REALLY good price right now.
