Hydrofoamer questions

Do the hydrofoamers have directional start issues like all Sicce pumps? Also.... what are Hydrofoamers getting for air draw. I just see a range, I want to know if a hydrofoamer can get 1300 lph like some say and under what conditions is that happening?

Thanks.

The hydrofoamers do not have start-up issues. They seem to universally get fantastic reviews for reliability and silence. I am thrilled with mine. They not have the features that trouble PSK-2500 while still pulling lots of air.

The hydrofoamer has the volute molded to motor, needlewheel molded on to the magnet (eliminates start-up issues), neodymium drive magnet for more torque & lower watts, unidirectional start up, fixed ceramic shaft (quieter), and Roger customer service.

As far as air draw, It will depend on application. 1300 lph would be really high, I'd guess no back pressure. I have seen 900+ lph when used on some popular cone skimmers.

I own the smaller version 9410 but I have not checked the air draw.

If you look at the Interzoo flyer 2010 we have a couple new models with the pumps internal and used only to recirculate and produce air, in this install the 9420.040 can do 1100lph but that is really the maximum that could be expected. They are not unidirectional.

This is going on a Warner Marine K2. I have a Sicce now with the red wheel. I'm getting 850-900lph now but I loose 20% for altitude. So I need 1100lph or so. I realize there is not an absolute number for me, but I need to be in the 100lph range for this to be worth it for me.

It cannot do that much air unless it is internal in a recirculation type skimmer. 850lph is about as much as it could possibly do pumping into the skimmer.

Thanks a bunch. Just need something to replace the Sicce. Great pump but tired of the directional starts issue. I used to not turn my skimmer off much but do not for feeding and it is irritating.
