Hydroids

Does someone have a nice macro shot of hydroids. Most pics I have seen are too far away to make them useful for identifying in your own system.

Also, can someone comment on the behavior of them. i.e. if you touch them do they suck in like aiptasia...or any other characteristic you can share.

Hydroids can really vary in appearance. Are you interested in the colonial ones? Digitate ones? The hydroid medusa? If you have something that you think may be a hydroid, it may be easier if you posted a photo of it. Some look like little feathers, others look like really small daisy/clove polyps. The medusa make people think that they have baby jellyfish. Hydroids usually aren't a problem unless you have very sensitive fish or are trying to raise fish, then they can cause significant problems.
