Hypo and cup ramie

Hey guys..... So I have my remaining fish in hypo ... Had a little issue w my top off system... I'm back at 1.009 but I see fish flashing so I know it's back...... And i have to reset the clock....I'm getting nervous keeping my fish hypo so long ( 3 weeks already ) I don't want to damage them any further.. Can I treat w cupramine and slowly raise the salinity at the same time? I have some of my live rock in the qt ( of course it's some of my best pcs ) can I use these pcs in my reef tank again after using cuprisorb?

Any help would b appreciated !

I would remove the rock before using cupramine. Cuprisorb is designed to remove copper out of the water column. It would not be effective to remove copper on porous surface like rocks.

Just because ich may not be visible, doesn't mean its gone.Copper needs 4 weeks to really be effective. Mixing hypo & copper won't hurry things and it sounds rough on the fish---I don't really know. . If you're raising SG, once you are above 1.009, hypo has no effect anyway. Unless fish are really in trouble, I'd remove copper (Cuprisorb, carbon, WCs) and raise SG to about 1.018. Low enough for the fish to be OK. Let the fish rest and feed well for a few days, then gradually increase copper to about .35-.40ppm . (Numbers are for Cupramine) I'd take 3-4 days to get to the .35-.40 range. Copper should be at that range for at least 4 weeks. I no longer think hypo is an effective treatment, so keep that opinion in mind. Yes, remove the LR. Is that all you're using for bio-filtration? Tank size and fish involved? Do not put the LR (or anything else) back in the DT without finding out how to handle it.

thanks guys, i havent added the copper yet.. they are still in the dt at hypo of 1.009 not seeing any ich but noticed one of them flashing.. trying to get a substantial bio filter for the qt running, before putting them in .... i have some small live rock and a sponge filter ( its a big sponge filter ) thats been in the dt for about 10 days.. worried about hurting the fish more with amonnia... the dt is 200 gallons... the qt is 50 gallons... the fish i have left ... one big purple tang and one big sailfin tang

the live rock in the dt is huge each pc 20 + lbs

I think you should be fine with ammonia in a 50g with 2 tangs. But you should still monitor it. As for the LR in with the infected fish, I would not put it in your dt tank again without first killing everything on it. ie bleach and long dry time.

There will almost always be periods when ich seems to disappear. The spots you see on the fish are not any real indication of the presence of ich. Ich may be in the gills, but there are also countless new parasites about to emerge from their "mother" cysts. There is no known way to kill these cysts without also killing the fish. But, when they emerge, they will be killed by the copper. Using LR in the QT makes treating and testing Cu almost impossible.
