Hypo/Fish Question

I have a Powder Blue Tang in hypo on his second week. He is tolerating it very well, all spots are gone. He eats like a horse, everything from Frozen Plankton and Mysis, Rods Food, Formula Two pellets and Sea Veggies, but he looks skinnier to me. So my question is does hypo affect a fish's ability to digest and absorb food, or in any way prevent them from gaining weight. He was always a good eater and very fat.

In my experience, as long as the fish is eating, everything will be okay. Fish typically get stressed when in a small QT/HT, along with the hypo, he is more than likely losing weight from stress. Once he is back in your DT, weight will go back on quickly.

Hypo is the least reliable of the treatments for ich and must be accurately maintained for at least 4 weeks.

I know, I've read every thread I could get my hands on, at least twice. I've decided to use hypo as it appears to be the easiest for me. I've got a good setup with an ato and maintain salinity at 1.008-1.009 precisely by refractometer. I plan to do more than 4 weeks, since I have plenty of time due to the DT remaining fallow, after which I will raise the salinity to normal levels and keep them in Qt for 4 more weeks. Only problem I really have is filtration. It takes allot of work to maintain water quality. Thanks for your input.
