I recently made a bit of a foolish move and put a fish strait into the display tank with no quarantine, I know stupid right.. The new fish seems fine but I noticed my yellow tang whos been with me for nearly 4years was twitching a little yesterday. She isnt showing any other signs of ich but im preparing for the worst.

So onto my question, rather than pull all my fish could i just perform hypo on my display? Heres a stock list.

yellow tang
pearl scale butterfly
2 lyretail anthias
5 blue damsels
3 stripe damsel
dragon goby
2 cleaner shrimp
halloween hermit crab
electric blue hermit
50 micro blue leg hermits

Also got a fuge with alot of cheato, dsb, and infested with pods.
thanks for any help.

You will kill the crabs, shrimp and other inverts. Hypo can only be used if no inverts are in the tank and it will kill many of the critters that live in live sand and live rock.

Another question if i put all my fish in quarantine and leave the tank fallow for a few months do the shrimp and crabs need to be pulled also? Can they host the parisite?

Leaving the DT fallow for 6 weeks is usually a safe window of time. Inverts can not host crypto so they can just remain in the DT.
FWIW, you'l need a fairly good sized QT to comfortably hold all of those fish.

thats my next step to find somthing large enough to house all the fish im thinking about using a stock tank itll be tough to monitor the fish in one but atleast they wouldnt be crowded. Im gonna keep an eye out for a used tank on my local board to. Thanks for the help.
