hypo salinity, whats your success?

about a year back or so I did a hypo treatment and didn't monitor alkalinity and lost a nano tang and a fox face. I am wanting to do a hypo treatment on all my fish for fear that ich is in my system now, even though visible signs have disappeared after chloroquine phosphate treatment. (not even my hippo is showing signs anymore) but I don't want to treat them and have them die if treatment wasn't necessary. who has had success doing a hypo treatment, with tangs and a mag fox, how did you do it, what were your secrets etc etc. just looking for some advice here. would you guys wait a while to see if the ich comes back or would you just go ahead and do hypo for four weeks just to be sure?

I did it in a hospital tank with great success, though my goal was saving the actually sick fish, not eradicating ich from my system. I monitored pH and added two part solution when needed to keep it above a pH of 8
Hyposalinity in a display tank is likely more risky as you have to maintain it longer and can't do regular tank scrubbings. Also bacterial blooms are even more likely than in an HT.
If doing it in a display system I would consider a UV lamp to keep bacterial blooms in check.

Or could I try treating with quinine sulfate? Aka crypto pro. Just as an added safe check?
