Hypo-saliniy questions.

1. What specific gravity is considered "hypo"?

2. Should i do hypo just because or should i wait for signs of ich?

3. How slowly/quickly should the salinity be dropped?

4. How long should a fish be in hypo if their is a presence of ich?

5. How slowly/quickly should the salinity be raised back to that of the main tank?

6. How often if any should a water change be down while the fish is in te QT tank?

1. 1.009, measured with refractometer.
2. Your choice. I would hypo to eliminate the chance.
3. Over three days, thru small water changes.
4. 6 weeks, while leaving the display fallow to kill the parasite.
5. 3 days.
6. WC as needed. IF the ammonia starts to go up, water change. Change water with water of the same salinity.
