Ok I had been qting new fish for a week and a half when I spotted some ich on a dwarf angel.

I have moved the fish from that tank to another tank 3 days ago.

Now I have moved them to the cleaned origanal tank.

Is this considered a third transfer or a second because the origanal setup the fish where in the tank for more than three days.

I'm thinking this would only be the second move and I need to transfer 2 more times.

One other thing I am using the same net for tank transfer and then putting the fish in a bowl draining the water then adding them in.

Could the water have ich in it.

And don't forget to leave the DT completely fishless (fallow) for a minimum of 72 days. It seems lately that there are some variants of ich that can actually go longer than 72 days, might want to go 90 days to make sure?

Oh no these fish have never been in the dt.

These are quarantined fish from begining.

And yes I have been cleaning and drying the tanks completly.

I might want to do 5 or 6 transfers to be safe anyhow.

All I have now is 2 black clown a purple firefish. From my 29 nano.
I moved them I to my new 56 and am qting and ttm and melanin treatment on new purple dotty back jumper dead grrr yellow canary blenny coral beauty angel hi find goby and green clown goby.

You do know that most dottybacks are VERY aggressive don't you? Sounds like the dottyback did you a favor. It sucks to lose fish but I think in this case it did you a HUGE favor!

I advise soaking the net in chlorinated water when not in use. Ich is not affected by a short rinse or brief soak in chlorinated water, it needs to be soaked for an extended period.

One of the greatest mistakes people make in using TTM is not properly sanitizing the tanks in between, or using a net that has been contaminated. Ich is extremely resilient and if you truly want to be rid of it, you need to treat it as if you are dealing with the plague. Every surface and every component needs to be properly cleaned.

Obviously using chemicals is typically out, but you can use regular bleach safely so long as you use a sufficient dechlorinator afterwards. Using HOT water is also sufficient, which is what I generally do.

I have been freezing nets and hydrometers for hours in between tanks.

I also have been using vinegar to clean the tanks and pvc and then I let them dry for 48 hours then I set them up 12 hours before and then before I put them I. The new tank I grab a ball of cheat from my display tank.

I currently have them in a ten gallon I moved them into today.

On Sunday day I will move them back to the 20l and slowly increase the salinity back up and then treat 5hem for a week with melafix.

I lowered the salinity to hypo for about a week after they were in qt and they where in hypo about a week and two days. And I have slowly raised the salinity a small amount through the pass three transfer by not toping off.

This has made the tank transfer less stressful and a little cheaper using half the salt I would've had to use.

The fish are all eating very well and are coloring up I have been feeding garlic enriched flakes spiraling brine and oyster and table shrimp mix I make myself.

The coral beauty that I origanal saw with ich has lost all its spots on the second tank transfer and is looking very beautiful the purple edge around his body is fluorescent purple looks so badass.
