Hyposalinity Treatment Log

another week has gone by, and things seem to be alright at this point. sailfin eating extremely well, going to town on HA in the tank. It really loves it. Still putting garlic on the evening feeding. If things continue on the up and up for another week or two I will probably pick up the next addition and start the QT process in early August.

Well folks, as always, ich does not stay away forever it seems. The last spots I saw were in July. Now it's November and boom I have an outbreak. I did a water change last week and blew off all the rocks for the first time. I believe this caused some dormant ich crap to resurface, coupled with the stress of the dirty water and creeping nitrates.

The ich outbreak this time is the worst I have seen. I am going to focus on water quality and feeding good quality food with garlic.

I am hoping I don't lose my fish and that the outbreaks subsides again as it did last time. I am unfortunately siding with the people that learn to live with the odd outbreak. I am crossing my fingers that doesn't result in dead inhabitants.

I didn't do things perfectly that's for sure, I guess this hobby is made just to drain wallets!

Extremely discouraged and wanted to vent.

You haven't tried Crypto Pro. That's a lot easier on the fish than copper and a shorter treatment too.
