Hyposalinity

Hi guys,

I've been reading a lot of good things about using hyposalinity on all new incoming fish. I thought I even heard that this the method most public aquariums use. My question is, is it ok to hypo more than one fish together at once? Also, where can I get garlic to feed them while in QT?

Yes it is OK to do more than 1 fish in Hypo as long as the QT tank is able to handle the fish load. As far as garlic...the best, and most likely to provide some benefits ...source is a fresh garlic clove diced up and soak food in with it. I even feed parts of the fresh clove (my tangs like it).

if you don't want to chop up garlic, pick up Garlic Guard. Goes for like $6 on Fosters and Smith. Kent makes one and I picked up one from a new company (Blue Plus?) but these will run $15-20 at the LFS. They are all the same.

just remember that the only thing hypo will treat is ich. If they have parasites you will need formalin and or malachite blue dips etc.
