If you didn't get, I am waffling, heres my current status and need input...

Right Now. 60 inch tank 20 deep.... currently a ghetto rig of current 24" t5 retro kits, yeah, the 5 dollar strip lights got 7 on one side and 3 on the other. I surprisingly got decent growth with this over the 30 had 4 14watt10k and 3 14 watt actin with polished aluminum behind it all.

I currently have 2 400 watt mag ballasts, 2 250 watt mag ballasts and built lumenarcs to fit them....

Now I am looking at T5 retros, due to cost and selection, thinking of going 48" and staggering them to cover. Now today I found these 2 things, right up the street. I am thinking 4 t5's maybe 2 10k 2 14k and use the led spotlights for actinic?

how flawed is my logic? I hate spending huge money on something that pieced apart is fairly cheap. My only thought is the led spots not being enough but can always just add 2 more t5 strips?

Brian - if you want to see a T5 2 bulb 48" retro - I have one in my home tank they are supplemental to my 46.5" ( 4 x 110 watt ) VHo's. I have them all in a canopy and only use one fan in the summer. I will be checking out different bulb combo;s shortly as all the bulbs are getting old.

Anyway,
T5 bulbs you would want to try are Geissman blue plus a pair and a pair of ATI blue plus. Stay away from the 10K the tank will look very white.
