the red malu that went up tonight on DD.:bounce1:

I can't wait to see it fully acclimated, I think it's gonna be a beauty.

It's gorgeous. Gratz!

Thanks, I'm really excited to see it under LED's and not the 20k spectrum DD uses.

The photo below is more pink than mine'll be, but it's pretty similar overall I'd say. I think once mine gets acclimated and the tentacles get longer (not to mention the light change), it won't be as maroon but more of a nice red color. Based on experience of previous DD purchases (20k vs. LED spectrum) and speculation of course.

(photo found on google, came from reefcentral though ;o)

nice.... curious to see it once it arrives. please post some pics. i have yet to purchase any nems online. hope it turns out well for you...

I told myself that if my current green gig didn't make it I would get a purple crispa or malu. So far the gig is doing good. Hence I would have to enjoy a nice Malu vicariously through this thread. Lol

+1

any updates on status and pic?

they have another that is very similar on dd today... been contemplating on it. i'm picking up a gig this weekend though and trying to limit myself...

if you say that it looks like the one in the basket, the limits are off though. lol

Okay the lighting in this photo sucks, and it's a cellphone pic, but here's a quick photo to show it's healthy.

It's in a 20 tall right now with crushed coral, hence the breeder box. I'm switching the tank over to a 20 long and changing to sand tomorrow. I cannot wait for it to be healthy enough to eat so I can plump it up. :bounce1:

It's doing really well, I'm thoroughly pleased with it. So far it hasn't moved from where I put it, but once it gets more comfortable it may look for a new location. Platinum clowns jumped in it immediately. I will try to capture some HQ photos this weekend of the anemone and the tank change itself.

I have to say though, the color looks better under their lighting. But I'm currently using a DIY LED light on this tank which I'll be replacing soon, should help the spectrum. Regardless, it looks great so I'm happy with it.

It's started to move, right now it's behind my torch coral... clownfish have a few marks from being stung by it. :(

My Platinum Clownfish, donated by Justinky.

Justinky is my twin brother, these are the clowns that were originally in his 82g aquarium. We removed them due to aggressive behavior in the clownfish harem.

That is my malu in the picture........I think your's is a bit darker but still very nice. The DD pick looks like the nem was starved and not the best of health, but it looks a lot better in your tank.

The tentacles should be much longer............good luck with it.
