this holds true in both my new and old tank my montis woould always just fade away and slowly die off....

i know its not monti nudis cuz it wasnt like the skin was being eating and i inspected very closely for the lil nudis....

any cap i get lightens up until it dies.... and all my branching montis slowly stn over about a month or more

anyonhe have any idea of what this may be??

my water check fine

am,ni,na all zero
PO4 reads 0
Ph 8.1-8.2
temp 78-79
Ca 400-420
Alk 8-9dkh
mg1300

all my other corals seem to be doing great for the most part....

maybe they dont like the lights im not sure....

i run 250W Helios 20K DEs on PFO pendants and hqi ballasts along with some extra PC's

any help or insight would be grreat!

yeah i have the following

a. valida
some kinda stag
red milli
blue milli
green slimer
some browned out acro

all of those seem to be doing fine

but i got a orange monti cap and its been getting lighter by the day... i tried one of these about 6 months ago with the same effect and it died in the end.... ive also had an orange digitata about 2 months + now and its been stn'ing slowly and its almost gone now

whats the deal i cant figure it out

i do have a large colt coral and a yellow finger leather

but the other acros seems fine and im running carbon 24/7

for flow i have a CL thats ran by a Sequence Dart on an oceans motion 4 way... i have a pan world 100x-x for my sump return fully open and a seio 1500 in the tank

so all in all about 4000-4500gph roughely in my 180

are you positive they arent nudis?? sounds like nudis. try dipping one of them in tropic marin pro coral cure for 10-15 minutes and see if any fluffy white critters come off.. those would be the dreaded nudis

im positive they arent nudis ive seen the nudis before and i know there aqre none on the corals...

i inspect each coral before they go in the tank....

theres not an area thats gettin eatin its the whole cap just gets lighter and lighter till it is completely bleached out and dies....

the digitata started from the bottom and spread around the whole colony i took it out and gave it a lugols dip and nothing so i know there is no nudis eatin on them.... i just cant seem to keep these guys happy

maybe your bleaching them from to much exposure to quick. Do you know the source lighting the mont's came from?
Just a thought.

well before my caps would all die. they were blacken up and then bleach. but then I moved my caps all 4 in from a powerhead and they love it. Just my experience. I knew they liked flow... just not THAT much.

interesting anyone else have experience with them liking LOTS of flow??

maybe ill move this one more towards the flow but its lokin like its already a lil late for this piece

maybe my next try i can do it that way
