I cant believe a fellow reefer did this to me..

I have spoken with Sondra concerning the issue and I can tell you all that there are always 2 sides to a story. Never put 100% stock into what someone says without always getting both sides of the story. Sondra was at the meeting and Mike was not. She has, and continues, to be active and not hide.

So Jess, have you spoken to Mike???? How can you make this statement and expect it have credibility when you only spoke to one person.

Mike was not at the event because he is not active in the hobby right now, which is why he sold the tank.

Mike and his family has been to more of these events than either you or Sondra!

Jess, I do not appreciate you telling me or others how to behave as a member of ACRO. I can do it without your help.

Jess, I in fact have heard both sides of the argument from Sondra and from Mike. I have sent a personal email to Sondra after hearing both sides of the story. I asked her to reopen the lines of communication and straighten things out. She has not returned my message.

There is no excuse for her lack of integrity in this case. She agreed to hold the corals for Mike and openly admits to this. This reveals the fact that she understands that she does not own the corals. We have all agreed to this fact.

Therefore, under no circumstance should she have the right to decide that keeping the three corals (that Mike asked her to hold) is a fair repayment for her loss of fish. Only the owner of the coral should make that decision. He certainly did not agree to these terms.

Sondra's comment to me was that Mike was not prompt in calling her and asking for the corals back. And for this reason and the fact that three fish died she stated that, things are fine the way they are and she has no interest in pursuing it any further.

According to both Mike and Sondra, niether have been very good at contacting each other or returning each others calls in a timely matter. I sensed this right off. The poor communication between the two is why this problem has escalated.

However, Sondra is fully aware that Mike wants his property back and she has refused to do it. She also refuses to discuss the matter any further.

I am disgusted with her dishonesty and lack of integrity revolving this issue. She should return the corals to Mike and negociate terms for her lost fish as a separate issue.

Mike has already offered compensation for the lost fish, but they disagree about the amount. Sondra has asked for a 100% retail compensation of $90 for teh dead fish. Yet she only paid 30-50% retail for the goods in the package deal. In her own admission she got a "really good deal."

Her actions seem very unreasonable to me. Jess if you were to BOTH sides of the story, I think you would change your mind about the situation.

This is getting ridiculous. This forum isn't a place to discuss private issues between reefers, its for discussing reefing.

Thank you Scott, It's a shame people side with scam artist's. ACRO won't have to worry about Sondra's attendance, people like that have no shame, she will still attend as if nothing is wrong. Just the Ric's are worth more then the lost fish and storage fee's. I always try to remember when things like this happen, it will pass for Mike, but the other party has been doing this all their life. Ever see a mother in a grocery store grab a pack of cookies and a drink for their child in the basket, do they pay for it or get rid of the packing before going to the register? Do you think the mother thinks she did anything wrong?

Actually I do have an update. Sondra called me on Friday and asked if we could meet this weekend so she can return my corals to me. We are to meet this evening.

Michael

That is GREAT!!!! I am very happy to hear that you both started communicating again to resolve the issue.

I did not think ignoring the situation ws adequate, and I am very proud of Sondra, because I know she was upset with the lack of communication and did not want to deal with it any longer.
