It was sold to me as a black tamarin wrasse, but not 100% certain. Anyone have an idea what kind of wrasse it is? Sorry for the bad cell phone picture, but it has a whiteish tail and a distinct black spot on its dorsal fin. Thanks.
Thanks guys for the help. So after doing some further research, I do agree its a dusky wrasse. However on liveaquaria the dusky wrasse is labeled as Halichoeres annularis. Am I missing something here?

There is actually differing opinions from authorities on this. Most fish references, such as fishbase, do not recognize annularisas valid, but rather as a junior synonym. Other experts, such as Allen and Kuiter recognize it as a distinct species from marginatus, seperated geographically and also with differences in patterns.
Science has not fully caught up, nor do scientists always agree on what is a legitimate species and what is a synonymous description.
