Some of you may remember me telling you about my finger swelling up real bad after doing some cleaning in one of my tanks awhile back. I have been much more careful about putting my hands in the tank if I have a cut, still don't wear gloves
but am more careful.
Well, it gets worse:eek2:
Sunday before last, I had a rock out of the tank. It had some of those yellow polyps (thanks John:mad2: ) on it. They had proliferated to a point that they were touching a real pretty green acropora. The Acro immediately bleached. Finally time to take action and get rid of the yellow polyps!!!
I had been injecting the polyps with Joes Juice, it does kill them but it takes multiple injections and by the time you get some dead, more are on the rise. So out comes the rock. I was using a razor blade to scratch them off the rock the best I could. It was while I was doing this that some pieces of polyp back sprayed onto my face:eek2: :eek2:
I didn't think much off it, but little did I know, some had hit my EYE
Monday morning I felt like I had a piece of hair in my eye. Monday night I felt like a had a couple rocks rolling around in my eye!!!
Off to the Doctor I went. I spent all week dousing my left right eye with the prescribed antibiotics. I really couldn't hardly open both eyes for two day's because of the light sensitivity and pain in the right eye.
My wife was very good about it, even coming to the lot and helping run the business while I was a mess. It caused an ulcer on the cornea that got infected, the anti b's reportedly clear something like this up in 24-48 hours, today is one week later and I'd put myself at about 85% cleared up!!!!
Moral of the story, let me be your example, be careful!!!!!
