I would like to reduse the number of these, I started with 5 and now i am up to about 8. I was sucsefull of selling one but I had to let me rock go with it. I do not want to give up any more rock but I cant seem to get them off the rocks.
Thanks:wavehand:

I think you're talking about BTAs right, not H. magnifica? The last photos of your tank (in the SPS forum about the A350) show lots of BTAs.

Thank You for the clarifacation, I am still learning here as you can tell. I seen a picture on one of trhese forums that looked like what I have. Is there much diferance in the two? Any sugestions on getting them off the rocks? Thanks Again

Huge difference between the two, in both care and appearance. BTAs reproduce frequently, Ritteris not so much.

In terms of removing BTAs, I've heard a lot of suggestions -- everything from rubbing an icecube on the foot to facing a powerhead at it to either blow it off or irritate it enough that it tries to move on its own. BTAs typically like to bury their foot deep into a rock crevice so they are hard to remove.

In the past, I've used the hammer and chisel approach. To me, it works the best and I feel it is actually the least stressful on the nem since it can be done quickly. It's exactly as it sounds -- you remove the rock it's on from the tank, then carefully chisel around the nem until you can either remove the portion of rock it's on, or you break away enough rock that you can carefully remove it.

If you blast the base of it with a turkey baster, it'll get p***ed off and move for you. Once it begins to move, it's easy to pluck it off.
