I don't know what to do.

I am buying a new house.

The new house doesn't exactly have the wall space to house my 8ft long 375 gal tank.

Thinking of downsizing to a standard 125 gal tank or so or a nice Cube tank. I don't know what to do.

Only way this tank would work in the house is if I design a new sump ( again ) and put the skimmer and calcium reactor, ozone reactor under the tank. rather then on the outside like it currently is.

decisions decisions.:blown:

Just assuming since you have a 375 gal. tank you probably have $$$ or you would not have such a big tank. Take a wall out in the area you want the tank to be.

FWIW I have a standard 12 gallon tank, and although I like it because it is what I put together if i had a chance to choose a different footprint I would. One thing that is hard with the 125 is the depth of the tank and aquascaping possibilities are limited.

Got a basement?
I wish, but No we don't
Go thru the wall into a closet for the sump
There isn't a closet near by, just behind the wall I am thinking about putting the tank is the bathroom.
Yeah fish room!
I WOULD LOVE ONE, that was the plan with some of the equipment I purchased. but the wife only wanted a single story house, with 5 bedrooms. so other then having a house built she found the house SHE loves. I live by, " HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!"

Sounds like it, but this isn't true. You of all should know how much this hobby cost monthly. then add 4 kids, large iguana, german shepard, cat. etc.

I would do nothing more then 5 foot wide, maybe 2 deep 2 tall

I am going to use my current tank, probably re skin it ( still stand ) and see how it works out.

I can still build my water change station in the garage, hook up a chiller to it, and have it pump the water as needed based on salinity salt or rodi. run the lines through the attic, drop down the wall. into the sump.

I am playing with the blue prints and drawing up ideas.

I don't think I'd do a wife like that either....LOL!

When I buy a house again, hopefully this year, I plan on doing a built in wall tank with my 185g and to some extent, a remote sump area. Couldn't you do that with this tank? Or set it up peninsula style?

Good eye.

I am not having the house built, it is an already built spec house.

The wife is in love with it so we are buying it.

I hope you can figure out a way to make your tank fit in the new house. If it just doesn't fit than downsizing is better than getting out of the hobby.

I put in lines from the garage to the DT to handle the ATO and a constant water changing system. Because it's a two story it was too difficult to go through the walls. So lines run along the walls. With a one story you should be able to go up through the ceiling fairly easily. Maybe do a sump in the gargae too? Did you check out Ryan's 540g "Sunpowered" build. He put his tank equipment in a shed in the backyard.

Make the tub into a sump

I had the same thought. :fun2:
