I feel Like I may have an issue.Do I fix it though?

Where's The Reef?
When I set my tank up 8 Months ago, I put my 250w Halides around 20" above the surface of my tank, I felt it would be ok, but now I am thinking they are far, far, too high.My tank is 25" Deep, my Highest located Colony is around 28-30" below the MH's.Im getting good growth, and good color, but I feel it could be better, as I have some Acro's that need high amounts of light, that seem to be doing fine where they are now, but once again, I feel like they need more light.

Should I fix a Problem that hasn't really made itself apparent yet?I wa thinking of lowering the MH's down to 14" over a couple weeks time, should I do it?

Also, on a Side note, where in the tank should my Purple Haze Monti be at in the tank?It is currently around 32-34" under the MH's.Looks great Has a deep Purple Base, with violet polyps, but hasn't grown much, other than encrusting some.

Thank You in Advance,
-Cody

you could go much closer.. I have my (4) 400's bulb height 10" over the waterline, and my tank is only 16" deep. Your chiller will run more when the lights are on due to more heat transfer into the water.
