I found a new way to kill Aptasia.

Follow up:

Just about 2 months now after using the Waterpik and ZERO Aptasia.

Nothing in the main 150 Gal Tank, the 125 gal refugium. Or the new 55 gallon tank I've installed with 7 yellow head jawfish. It's now tied into the water filtering system.
I'm gonna try my hand at raising the little critters.

I only used the waterpik the one time. No follow ups needed. I did add about 15 peppermint shrimp and a key I believe in allowing the Shrimp to do their job without getting blown all over the tank.

I have installed a very simple timer on the two MP60's. It's programed to completely shut down about 4 hours every night since the programing for the fans won't allow a complete turn of.

2 Months....No Aptasia.

Eh, your local Petsmart already started that fad.

When I remove bubble algae from the tank, I use the siphon hose and suck the remnants out during water changes. Why couldn't the same thing be done with aiptasia and a waterpic?

Hi All,
Here is a photo of my Matted Filefish. He just came out of
QT last month and getting familiar to his new home. Needless to say I had a problem with aiptasia. He has been do a great job in riding my tank of them. Before the filefish I could count hundreds of
these little aiptasia every where. Now they are all but gone. He has been in my tank just a little over 45 days.

Fish can not pick aiptaisias, that hide in rock. I'm sure, the aiptasias will return if your Matted Filefish is not in your DT

Matted filefish work great. Interesting addition to the aquarium as well. I'd always have one in any tank that showed any signs. They are relatively cheap too.

My file fish works like a champ. His only downside is he likes palys and zoas as well. Mowed down everyone of them with a quickness once the aitapsia was eraticated. Now a model citizen. He even survived marine velvet which took out my old livestock. I like how he changes to camouflage himself
