i got eggs ... what do i do ?

i have a pair of false percs been together in the same tank for almost 3 yrs , and i just noticed little silver specs on the rock beside there anamone ...... so what do i do ? just let them be ?

i never really considered rasing clowns , but i may look into it now for the future ..... so my question is will they do it again and how often ?


im guessing if i dont do anything right now they will all just be eaten ?


any advice on what to do ?

Let the first few spawns go before you do anything. Check out http://www.breedclownfish.com/ and the other threads in the section for what you need to do if you actually want to raise them. It will be a bit of work if you want to keep them.

well that was short lived .... i noticed them a few days ago and didnt think anything of it . but they kept getting bigger .... but this afternoon someone ate them


so will this happen again ? and how often ? i might pull the anomone and clowns out into a seperate tank and see if i can produce some little clowns

If you pull them out there is a good chance that they will not spawn again for very a long time but it's really hard to say for sure. Left alone they may spawn again in 6-8 days.

Clown will start spawning when they have established a territory and feel secure in there surroundings.

i just read that after i posted .... looks like im going to just let them do there thing for now, but im deffenitly thinking of giving it a try in the future .

i like work ... no really , i see there is alot involved and thats why im going to just let them do there thing last thing i need to worry about on a daily basis is another project .... i have to much as it is but i like to read so it looks like something ill educate myself on for the future

Well at least you answered your own question. "i got eggs ... what do i do ?"

you can move them and they should be ok. i would forget them nem when you move them. i got a pair of onyx shipped to me from Illinois and they restarted spawning 4 days after i put them in their tank. so i would move them at night into their new home and they should be ok for you. they might skip a lay or 2 then get back into it again. i would put them in a tank with a clay pot and nothing else and they will lay on the pot and then the pot can be removed and put into a hatch tank and they can hatch.

well they did it again ....ill let this batch run its course , but im going put a piece of clay in where they are laying them in hopes that next time they lay on the clay .... going to order up some rots and start them awhile
