I got flatworms

almost any wrasse will work, i would suggest a six line though. after a few weeks in the 5 he should have blasted through all of them and you could return him/ move him to the 29 if you have the bio. it also helps that the fish is quite easy on the eyes, especially as they mature and reach adulthood. <~~~steve

sorry for the double post but sean at EB got in 2 blue velvet nudis that looked to be in great shape last tuesday. i dont know if they sold or are still alive but its worth a phone call. ill also look tommorow when im there<~~~steve

My carpenters wrasse doesn't touch them. :(
Seeing that you have a smasher mantis like me.. I would not worry too much about the wrasse. It is a fast swimming fish and as long as the mantis is well fed he should leave it alone. If you had a spearer I would worry more.

I'd be scared to put my six line in my nano with my N. Wennerae. They are much faster than you think they are if hungry :). She is definitely brave, which makes her even more dangerous. She hit my tank glass earlier tonight after agitating her with my finger. It was so hard I had to make a double take at it to make sure the glass wasn't cracked.

I'd say a six-line would be a meal right quick... they are rock sleepers, so although they might be fine during the day, they are a sitting duck at night.

I'm not sure if it's a smasher or not. I do hear a loud clicking quite often. Is that indicative of the smasher kind?

Thanks for the link Ryan. I found out that it's a Gonodactylaceus falcatus. He's about 1" long...maybe 1.25"....it says that they will eat "the smallest crabs and crustaceans".

I really wonder if he'll eat a fish.

Only thing about the sixline is, won't it only help control the population of them? It won't get rid of them fully will it? I don't know. With all the holes in the rocks, you'd think the flatworms would still be able to reproduce. So, if you get a sixline, it might eat most, but then once you remove it, they will come back? Guess you could get something to clear most out and then use the FWE....but you said you don't want to put any chemicals in your tank. FWE didn't get rid of all of mine. I did 3 treatments and still seen 1 or 2 on the glass. The sixline is eating them though cause that one that was on the glass, I watched him pick it off. And all day he hunts the rock and picks at it.

you could always upgrade your mantis tank to a 10 gal. tank. I know, still small for a sixline, but I bet it would be fine...
