We transfered everything from our hex tank to the new 75 gallon the other day (sunday). We used the water from the hex and transfered the live rock and sand to the new tank. Topped off with about 20 gallons of new salt water. Everything was great and then the accident!!! Seio powerhead fell in the sand bed overnight and covered everything with sand. I quickly shut down the powerheads and started to clean everything off. All day monday and tuesday things seemed ok. I keep testing the water, all parimeters are great. Now, the ? with hammer coral comes in. It is NOT a branching hammer, it is one large plate? Anyway it has about 6 mouths in it. The reason I know this is cause last night instead of closing up in its plate like it always does when the lights go out, it flopped open. Not really closeing but exposing its mouths, which were wide open. Today it doesn't seem as perky as usual either. I do feed my LPS every couple of days. I just fed it yesterday, some krill and brine.
Do you think this is just from the shock of being moved from one tank to another? Should I move it closer to the light? Is this normal seeing the mouth in this type of coral?
Thanks, Kristin
