Hi,
Been reefing for 16 years mostly softies in aquariums 30 gallons or less due to travel and family. I currently have a IM Fusion 20 with 2 Aqua illumination prime and a diy 20 gallon frag tank with another 2 prime units. I have been an Aqua illumination fan for a while and my montipora all have Vivid colors using them. I like that I can angle the primes to help alleviate shadowing that is a known problem with led. That aside....
I held off on sps for a while due to me traveling for work. Well...I just purchased $200 in sps frags after reading the latest Coral magazine and I'm in love
. My tanks all have been stable and am using a apex and plan on using an apex doser. I plan to finish the basement this fall and I think I'm going to purchase a Deep Blue 80 gallon rimless with two Hydra 52's and make it a full blown Sps system! I can't believe I have waited this long on purchasing some Sps. I grabbed a strawberry shortcake, plum crazy, Hawkins echinata and my favorite believe it or not due to its history a Stuber Acro. I'll probably have to start getting rid of some softies as they don't like the higher led levels after acclimation even in the corners of the tank. I'll throw some pics up once I figure out how to capture photos correctly with led. Thanks for reading....
Nick
