Yes, we are interested. Research is great on RC, but having folks local who document their trials and tribulations (and we can talk to locally) is better (when they succeed). So good luck, Dave!!

One interesting note is that my vet didn't seem to want to learn about this issue. They did provide the prescription and for that I am grateful to them and not complaining. They also set me up as having coral under my cats account so that if I had to go back for more in the future it would be that much easier. I arrived with all of the documentation that I could find as a just in case.

Update: 7 hrs after 2.3mg dose of interceptor hermit and mythrax crab die within minutes of each other. I actually saw the mythrax die, it seemed that it threw up a red dust and then fell off of the rock. Terrible I know, but if documenting what happened, thats the grisly truth.
Also, snails, bristles, peanut, tube worms, fish, coral, serpent star, urchin all appear fine. No sign of any red bugs on my acros. Last night they were hard to miss. Pylop extension on the worst infested stag is back to normal. Seems kinda quick but I am not complaining.

I dosed my tank tonight too...
I dosed a couple weeks ago, now dosing again and ran out of interceptor.
Hopefully this does it.

No, I haven't seen any since the first treatment two weeks ago. Tonight's dosing was a precautionary measure to make sure I get any larva/offspring/etc. that may have been residual from the last treatment.
You're supposed to do 3 treatments, 1 week apart. I only had enough interceptor for two treatments, so I spaced them two weeks apart. I'm hoping this is it for me.

All appears normal in the tank this morning. Still no sign of red bugs where yesterday pretreatment they were very noticeable. Also, no sign of any pod activity unfortunately.
-15 % water change performed
-Air line re-installed and Skimming initiated
-Carbon and GFO reintroduced
Increased water flow by 600 gph adding another koriala #2

Update
1 day after treatment and 9 hrs after a 15% water change I fed some flake food in the dark. I then saw that my pod population was still thriving. Not sure if this will change after the 2nd and thrid treatment but for now all is fine. The one acro that was really badly covered in bugs has none and full polyp extension again.

I let mine dwell for 36 hours on my last treatment... Didn't have the time to do the first water change. I don't have any crabs/shrimp at the moment anyway, so no real urgency. I don't mind if the medication leaches for a while. I'm doing 7 gallon waterchanges as soon as the water is ready. Will probably do two, maybe three and run carbon/gfo through my two stage reactor.
Piece of cake... Only thing difficult with these treatments (for some), is getting the interceptor.

Update
The star fish seems to have bounced back, still not taking food from me but I have seen him more active than he was. No further snail loss. The snails that I did lose were the margarita snails and they were in the tank for about 3 months. They are typically colder water creatures with a shortened life span in a reef environment so, it may have been a coincidence. My nas. snails and ceriths are still going strong as well as all of my stomatella that came in a hitch hikers are fine and breeding at a high rate.
Next treatment is tomorrow night. More to come...

Interceptor Treatment Update 12/5/2008

One week into the first Interceptor treatment there is still no sign of red bugs on my acros. All acros are now at full PE and color seems to have improved.
At 7Pm tonight I dosed my second pulverized pill of 2.3 mg. This will run through the tank until tomorrow morning when I will perform my weekly 15% water change.
All non-arthropod inverts are all still thriving. I did lose a few snails this week but I consider this a coincidence.

I think I can report with some certainty that the fist unintentional casualty is my green serpent star. I just found him crawling upside down very slowly along the sand. I was not able to pull him out as he still has some strength in him and is clinging to a near by rock. After last weeks treatment he started to go down hill but was springing back as of Wednesday night. I think this second round of treatment was too much for him. I'll post again when I am sure he is dead. I guess this begs more questions. After treatment, how long will it be until it is safe to begin adding hermits, a star fish etc back to the tank? Anyone have any personal advise on this aspect of the treatment? I know CATO said that it took his tank a while before it was able to support these animal again. Is this the norm?

Well two things I can add. 1) It probably isn't such a bad thing the green serpent star died, he evetually would have started to eat your fish (they are very well known to do this). Yes it would have been nice to find him a better home instead of death.
2) Once you are done with your full treatments run fresh carbon (changing weekly) and do water changes, water changes and more water changes. This will help to pull out what ever is left in the tank. Then as Cato did, you can add a couple of hermits in a month or two as your test subjects and see how they fair.
Glad to hear the losses have been minimal and the acro's are looking better.
