I hope this isn't one of you guys...

👍 this guy is near me, he listed a yellow watchmen goby for $10 on CL. Not a bad price so I email him, we talked on text and set up a time to pick it up tomorrow. Tonight on CL I see the same goby for sale for $20. I text him and see what's up, he tells me that he had many offers for $20 so that was the new price and since I'm first in line I can have it for $20. As politely as I could I let him know I'll pass on it. Whoever that is, is a real peice of work.

Oh didn't know he's the goby guy.
I emailed him about the goby too, but didn't even get a reply.
LOL gsp for 70....I gave that stuff away a while back.

I have a hard time giving this stuff away. Speaking of which, if anyone wants some, I have a piece -- probably the same 4.5" x 3" size this guy is selling. My price: FREE

In this hobby, you get weirdos that sell xenia or gsp for ridiculous prices. Sand part is someone will end up buying it

Oddly enough, I've been unable to keep gsp until this year. I'd get a chunk and it'd stay the same size for years. Nearly a decade in, I finally have a mini colony that's thriving, so I can understand the struggle...:celeb1:

Unfortunately, when someone gets taken for a ride, they're likely to pass it to the next unknowing fool.

Fully agree. The only right price for GSP is "free". I had that thing in my tank, it grew like a weed taking over the rocks and whatever other corals were there. Eventually I took those rocks out and I seeded a small GSP piece on the tank back panel. Well, it grew fast again all the way up into my overflow and down near the rocks. That was the end of it. I removed all of it from my tank.

If someone is going to pay $70 for GSP, I feel really bad for him/her.

Reev,

How did you attach this GSP to back of your tank? And how did you remove it completely from back of your tank?

I have some on a large rock in my setup. Thinking to break that portion off the large rock, but unsure how as I don't want my large rock breaks up into pieces. Any thought?

I used super glue to attach it. During a major water change when the water level was low, I peeled off a sheet of GSP from the rock and super glued it on the glass panel right above the water level.

To strip it out from glass was pretty easy, it peeled off with a light pull. To get rid of it from my overflow it was harder, since I neglected the GSP until it went inside the overflow teeth. I peeled off as much as I could & brush off the teeth periodically.

Well if your in south san jose can i pick some up if you're serious. I'm new to reefing 90 days. Even I know that is way overpriced!

You guys better jump on this!!! He dropped the price to $60!!! That's right... $60!!!

:fun2:
