I injured the foot of my RBTA. Will he survive?

I was trying to get him off the rock he was on and let me just say....F$&@ they hold on Good. It was like he was glued to the dang thing. I took the rock and hung it upside down for 30 minutes with no luck. Tried ice on his foot, no luck. So I got frustrated. I took a butter knife and tried to get him off and it took 30 minutes and I injured his foot in 2 or3 places. It's tore but he's in flated and and looks great.

So How hardy are they, will he survive. Or is there anything I can give him to help him stay alive.

Once mine was on 2 separate rocks. Didnt know, picked up one of the rocks and tore his foot in the middle. Not all the way, but a big tear. He healed up in a couple of days.

I tore the foot on my RBTA a little and it caused it to split. I guess it worked out well since I now have 2!!

BTA's can withstand a little bit of foot damage and be OK. As mentioned, sometimes this can spur them to split. LTA's on the other hand, typically do not survive foot damage.

Well that's great news. I just love the Red color. I hope he makes it. I wouldn't be dissappointed if he split! They're are beautiful!

Moved a rock with an anemone on it and didn't realize that part of its foot was holding on to an adjacent rock. As I pulled the rock apart, I feel this slight resistance and when I look down, my anemone is sitting there nearly torn in two with its guts hanging out. I'm beating myself up for killing my BTA and decide to just leave it to see if it will recover. A week later, I have two anemones on two rocks.

BTAs are suprisingly resillient.

While foot tears are usually a death sentence to most nems, BTA's often recover and reward you, as long as it's not too bad.

Just keep an eye on it for necrotic tissue. Once it starts, it usually means its the end of the BTA. But as others said, if I were to put money on it, I'd bet on it making it.
