Update

Thanks to the collective input from you guys all is well now. I increased feeding, with all food soaked in garlic (including Rogger's food) and added a cleaner shrimp. I believe the combination led to the absence of visible ick. All fish are happy, if not a little fatter.:D

I decided to stay with the feeding regimen, more or less, and will be adding another cleaner Today (since the one I have already needs a vacation with all of the fish that are stopping at the cleaning station:p ).

Thanks to all!

Glad to hear that your fish are doing well :)

Flamehawk sorry to hear about your fish though :(

This hobby is all about the ups and downs....

Big Al's keep the SG in their fish tanks very low, .017 or so. So if you keep yours at ocean levels (.024 or so) it's tough acclimating the fish back up. I've had mixed results. Last time, even though I acclimated for a long time, the fish all died. I have some Anthias though that I got a couple years back and they're doing great. Come to think of it, at the time I was keeping my SG lower, then over time (months) I let it creep up.

Yeah, well if you got the Yellow belly at Big Al's then I feel your pain. I just got one this past weekend from them and it looked super healthy. By Tues it had ich and spread it to my white cheek that was just beginning to eat. Yesterday my white cheek died and the Hippo still looks pretty rough. All my other fish are fine.
I hate stores that medicate their tanks and then the fish go south. Err!
In my opinion, ich will not normally kill a healthy fish.White cheeks are known for being caught using cyanide.I would be pretty much willing to bet that the ich just added too much stress,to an already sick fish.I am sorry for your loss, but ich is a parasite & so does not gain anything by killing a host.I think that for the most part, ich is almost a secondary or side affect to some other illness, that is often just more noticeable than the route cause.
