I'm extremely bummed; almost 1 year into the hobby and I have my first experience with walking up to a dead fish in the tank. Of course it would have to be my favorite one, too.
My 6" porky puffer saw fit to wedge himself into the rock work and got himself stuck sometime last night. He's a voracious eater/beggar and I was concerned when I didn't notice him during feeding time this morning. Upon closer inspection, I saw part of face down low and knew what he'd done right off the bat. After carefully unloading all of the rock from the tank to get to him, it was obvious he puffed up and passed on. I've seen him get stuck before and gave him a hand but honestly, I always figured assumed that if I wasn't there, he could've gotten loose. A quick search of Google turns up many instances of fish getting stuck to power heads but not within rock work.
Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? He was an extremely healthy looking fish that never showed any signs of confusion, lack of appetite, etc.
