I"m new to this! Frag Buys or Swaps? Meetings?

Okay... I'm new, and I almost spent 300$ in different types of corals and was going crazy over if it was the right choice. Went to saltwaterfish.com and I thought they had good prices.
I'm in Cleveland,Tn and I'm willing to buy frags or trade some for another frag. I wouldn't even mind talking about knowledge of tanks and actually share interest with someone else.
I recently started up a 3 gallon picotope and is starting to grow its first corlaine algae, and wouldn't mind putting small frags to grow.
I also recently started up a 8 gallon BioCube and going through the same as the Picotope.
My 29 gallon bowfront has been up and running for almost a year, and have couple of zoo's, candy cane, toadstool, frogspawn, palm palm blue, and so on and so forth.

Well I was reading a little on forums here, guess I can't swap or buy frags or sell idk until 90 posts, so... I guess I better get started... If I'm breaking any rules or if there's a forum on rules let me know. Don't want people getting mad at the new guy.

Anyways... Does anyone use RO Water? I don't use it, and my corals and fish seem to be happy and all my corals are growing rapitly. Is it just a gimic like buying bottled water instead of using tap water?

I don't believe there are any post minimums if you want to buy things, only if you are selling. Based on the description of the corals you say you are keeping I wouldn't say RO/DI water is critical but you will have better long-term success with it.

Welcome there Dreak117! Glad you could join us here on the boards! These guys have lots of great information!

RO water is the bestest, I even drink it instead of my tap water because tap water has florine, chlorin, phosphates, etc etc that will add up in your tank and do bad things (algae breakouts etc) so you gotta be careful with what you put in.

expect out what you put in!

and take your time, never rush or feel like you "have to buy" something, ask lots of questions and you'll do great!

Once again... welcome!

Howdy. :D

Alright, I do use a canister filter on the back and I always add new carbon and phosphate removal inside of it every two months. Seems to be working, sometimes I will get a little red algae but within couple days its gone again. Besides my Lawnmower Blenny loves to snack on it, so I wouldn't want to ruin his meal :)
Here's a picture of my tank if you guys think I'm doing any wrong here.
