I may buy one of these for my filter socks

What do you guys think? This looks like a great solution to someone who has a small tank and doesn't have to watch too many socks at a time.

Yes, it is pedal powered, but that may not be such a bad thing.

Seems very small for it work and its pricey, $179?

I would rather use Haier Pulsator Washer its 7.4 gallon than 1.3 gallon.
Any size smaller then Haier would be too small.

Haier cost like $40 more.

Although nifty, I would have to think that is doing little more than you could do simply by cycling the sock by hand in an open 5 gallon bucket. Again, gitchy, but I'm not thinking you are going to be happy with the results.

My 2cents

Yeah, this product really is designed for lazy people who don't want to hand wash their delicates. :lmao: I doubt it would do much to clean the pores of a filter sock. Nor would it effectively rinse bleach out.

I use my regular washing machine and put it on a custom cycle. 1/2 cup of bleach, fast tumble, heavy soil, sanitizing heat, double rinse and spin, hang dry. I don't bother hosing them out before washing. The bleach and double rinse leaves the machine sparkling clean.

Yeah. After watching other videos online, I'm not so sure of how good this will work. Oh well, it was too good to be true.

If your wanting to try something like this and don't want to spend a ton of money go for this little guy. Prolly wouldn't work for people with huge tanks that run through tons of large socks but for a smaller set up.

When I set up a larger tank and start having to deal with socks again I'm definitely getting one of these. They would be perfect for pre wash in a 5g bucket before finishing off in the main washing machine (and one more thing for all you Amazon prime junkies to order off line).
