Ok guys two things lolol.
1. I thought I lost a green chromis and my male clown in my 90. Come to find out they are both in my over flow. How do I get them out?!?!?!
2. I'm having a huge hair algae outbreak in my 14gallon bio. How do I get rid of it?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 75 with corner overflow.... when the occasional fish ends up in there I have a cheap net that I bend to fit into the overflow. Also, I've flushed fish down into my sump (pulling standpipe from overflow so water drains out) and into my filter sock when they're not cooperative with the net.

For the hair algae.... water parameters?

+1 on pulling the stand pipe out it works to flush the fish to the sock...I do this on occasion to clear the detritus out of the overflow box it works really well....:spin3:

Well when I setup my tank I didn't glue it into the bulkhead....sometimes it just get a stuck from calcium and normal use ....you can sometimes just wiggle it a bit and it comes free but if you are not sure I wouldn't wrench on it to much or you will break your tank .....

Look up about.com and search word hydrogen peroxide injections for aqaurium algae. I've done it and it works but you need to fix the source of the problem as well!

that is more for Briopsys i wouldnt do a full tank treatment of hydrogen peroxide for hair algea.

Lower your nutrianys in the tank. If u use a filter sock change it everyday. Use a tooth brush and scrub off as much of it as u can for the next month and cut your feeding way back

You gotta b careful doing a full tank treatment. You need to do targeted treatments on a daily basis. You can only dose an x amount of peroxide per gallon per day in a matured tank.....otherwise your beneficial bacteria will be killed off very rapidly. Also, when doing targeted treatment you need to check your nitrates/nitrites daily to makes sure your good bacteria is in order.
