Im going to trade this guy a metal hal ballest for a fish and some cash. He has a Purple Firefish, Black cap basslet, and a blue spot jawfish. I want the blue spot SOOO bad, but told that they dont do well. What do you like more, purple firefish or black cap basslet?

Thanks so much,

Josh

the blue spot jaws are great fish with alot of charecter i have had two and they were doin great untill one morning i found one in the filter and the other on the floor other than the fact that they are notoriouse jumpers they are very hardy fish
goodluck

The only one I would consider is the black cap. The six line will terrorize the firefish, and the blue spot wouldn't be a good choice for that tank.

Good advice from BrianD.
In a tank under 50g, both those other fish are apt to jump.

If your going for value the blue spot jawfish is worth considerably more than any of the others.

Considering the high mortality of the species, I wouldn't take the chance.

That too. I agree with BrianD on that one. I passed on a beautiful blue spot jawfish ($125) because of the notorious jumping and high mortality.

Maybe try to get some more cash instead.
