I pulled the trigger and got my first anemone.

Well, after lot's of heated debates with myself, I decided to go ahead and get an anemone. My LFS had this nice BTA, and a pair of GSMs (sold my picassos for the maroons because I've always liked the Gold Striped Maroons), that I traded some frags for. I was worried about it moving around a lot but so far it hasn't left the rock it came on. It's been in my tank for a little less than a month now. The nem is on the small size for the clowns right now but it doesn't seem to mind the clowns so far.

And the male GSM, checking out my duncans

Nice looking. But, keep a very close eye on the anemone -- would like it to be 3 times the size of the clown, maroons have a nasty habit of "loving" their anemones to death.

Thanks. I've been keeping an eye on the anemone and it seems fine as of now. Any indicators I should be specifically looking for? Or just general healthy looking anemone means it's OK?

It literaly hasn't moved an inch since I put him in. It will occasionally close up but, from what I've read, that seems to be normal for new nems. It always opens back and is fully inflated in a few hours. And the so called descriptive characteristic of looking "off" is what I've been looking for mostly, and it seems to be OK.:wildone:

man,i have a rbta and a gsm,i tell you what look out for the nem :P
my clown bit some of the tentacles off because he sucks on them at night.
todd is right, these guys have a big habit of rough snuggling with their nem.
