I'm looking for anyone close to Daytona Beach that might be kind enough to give me some substrate or even smaller pieces of live rock so I can jump start my cycle.

If you strike out here, there is likely a local facebook group you could hit up. If not that, run into a LFS and see if they'll give you a small scoop of sand or a little rock. They may charge you a few bucks, but you'll get your bugs.

That's how I always start a tank from scratch. It's a good method.
