Could you live with yourself if it did happen?
I have people over here pretty regularly from RC. I myself have no concerns about this, but talk to my wife. Do you really think that only upstanding individuals like reef tanks?
If you don't have kids your opinion in this matter kinda doesn't count, sorry. You have no pictures to post, and no worries about POSSIBLE repercussions. And trust me, your attitude changes after you have kids. I never figured it would be so affecting.
I would never post a pic of my kids, or my wife.

You invite posters from RC to your house, so what does an image of your kid or wife have anything to do with anything? They are going to see what they look like when they come to your house anyway right?
Again, dont want to argue, but like you said... when you have kids of your own, you simply become paranoid.

I use this as an example. How many of you cary pictures of your kids in your wallet? Or your wife? Or have an online photo album?
What if you lose your wallet? Your address and everything is there. One can easily get an IP address of your computer from your online photo album or any other internet source.
My point is that anything *can* happen. But to put yourself into a protective buble is a bit over the top, at least to me. Most kids get abducted while playing out in the open or in crowded public places. Not because they are being stalked over the internet through their parents.
But then again, I dont have kids.
