I still cannot tell the differen't between favia and acan.

If you look at that coral, inbetween each coralite there is a "valley" that is covered in flesh. Take a look at this web site, it has them seperated based on Genus,, with acans at the top. Clink on the Acanthastrea lordhowensis and look at the pic of the skeletal structure...has no "valleys". Then go down the page untill you find the listing of Favia and Favites and look at the skeletal structure of a couple of them. Most will have very distingisable "valleys".
