I think I have eggs....

Well snail eggs! I have these flat white spots all up and down my back two seams of my tank! I always see my big snail in those areas. They are very hard to scrape off, and sometimes leave bits behind. Is this good or bad? I apologize for bad picture, but all my money goes to caring for my daughter, and my animal care, so camera phone is all I have.

If you have margarita snails, it's very possible these are their eggs. Does it look like this?

Yes they do look like that! I don't know what mind of snail they are since I called my LFS and asked for a CUC for an 8gal. I trust them. Here is a picture of my smaller one.

Also... is snail eggs good for my tank, and say they do hatch, how will this affect my tank, should I leave them be or scrape them?

Hah! i was just about to start a thread about the same thing. Threw in my CuC yesterday from reefcleaners.org which was a combo of nassarius, nerites, and ceriths (ended up receiving about double the amount i ordered...any harm in this?) and this morning there were a ton of eggs on my glass & some on my rocks:

In the first picture where the snail dropped eggs there are a lot of little white cylindrical pieces. Any idea what these are?

There are more you didn't spot so I wouldn't worry about scrape them. Snail population is limited by algae and food so as long as you don't have excess algae and organic matter, they won't overrun your tank. Don't worry about them.

hahahahaha ok. She mowed down a ton of algae on the are she laid her eggs, what goes in must go out i guess, but wow thats a lot of poo for one night!

I have also noticed my big female will climb out of the water. I have a small part of plastic sticking out of the water (about 2cm). It's the back wall of my biocube, separating the chambers from DT. She'll climb up there after I notice more eggs.
