I think it's ready

My buddy has a 165 reef, and has always wanted a seahorse tank, so I helped him set one up.

Specs-

DSA custom tank...32L X 20W X 30H
Radion G2 Pro
Eshops sump
G2 skimmer
25 watt Emperor Aquatics UV
Sicce 2 return pump
Sicce Nano pump X 2 for internal flow
SpectraPure auto top off

I'm really digging how the aquascape turned out...pretty much how I envisioned it. I used TLF glue to tack the rocks in place, and then reinforced them with the TLF red putty.

It was difficult for him to wait, but after 2 months I gave him the green light...and the horses were ordered before I got to his house to take some pics. I'm pretty sure that he ordered from Ocean Rider Can't wait to see them in there. I think the only other additions will be some red/orange tree sponges, and any other cool algae we come across.

Looking good! Your rockwork is gigantic and high! Are there pvc pipes involved? I wish I had the money to buy so many nice corals for my seahorse tank...gonna have to wait a whiiile and keep cleaning plastic ornaments.

Beautiful tank. While I tend to really like more minimalist aquacaping, this looks great! My pony tank is also 30"H (40 x 24 x 30), and I'm just about to do the aquascaping... think you've given me some inspiration =)

What kind of macro algae do you have in the sand bed and how deep is the sand bed? That's similar to an idea I've been toying with but hadn't really seen any example that I liked.

On a last note, you may want to reconsider the clam. From all the research I've done over the past year (while I slowly build my tank and wait), if the seahorse happens to drag its tail across the clam, the clam has the potential to snap shut, injuring the seahorse.

There is no PVC pipes involved. Just some strategic stacking, and Two Little Fishies super glue, and Two Little Fishies reef putty.


Falling-

The algae in the sand is Calerpa prolifera. The sand is between 2 and 3 inches deep. Thanks for the heads up on the clam tip. If the clam was a larger Derasa, or Squamosa, I could see that being an issue.

I would get rid of the clam. They can close with a lot of force at that size. I remember seeing pictures of an angelfish that had its head crushed when it picked at a clam. +1 I agree no clams in your tank with seahorses,you may not think that the clam can harm the seahorse but take my word they can.
