I think my mantis is no more....

I had picked up a small n.wennerae a few weeks ago from my LFS. It has been doing great, eating well and even tunneled his way into a chunck of liverock in his tank. Acouple of days ago I noticed that he hasn't been hanging out watching the world go by from his cave as he usually does. At first, I thought maybe he was molting....then I noticed one of the small hermit crabs in his cave eating his shell (my mantis).

Is it possible that he did indeed molt and the hemit crab got to him before he could harded up and protect himeself???? I am heartbroken....this was my first Mantis. He was a great little critter:sad2:

I have searched his tank....no sign of him anywhere.....

i couldnt find mine until i saw a huge cloud of sand puff out of his home. he may still be alive
