I think my yellow eye tang is sick

I have had him for about a month and everything has been great but now he is really gotten pale, bleached out color and also kinda swimming around scraping his side a little...I don't see any spots on him at all like ich...but he still is swimming and eating. Any ideas on what this is and what I can do? Also I have only been feeding him once a day with nori or the fish mush we made...is that too little? I'd sure hate to lose him he has a great personality.

Is he scratching alot? How about water params? PH/Alk/Calc?

More info needed but sounds passibly parasitic, or highly stressed due to something off in the water.

How long have you had it??? EVERY Kole Tang we've have gotten have problems.....Last one did well during the fight with bryopsis but decided not to eat anything I feed after bryopsis was cleared off....First one had a parasite that I had to do the freshwater dip. He would scratch a lot, NOT easy to see unless you have it in a clear container during the dipping process and you can see these clear scaly looking parasites falling off. Where did you get it?

I wouldn't worry about Nash's parameters, he pretty much knows what he's doing....He's been around for awhile....

i got him at the critter... I know these guys are prone to such things but it has happened so fast... I would never be able to catch him for a dip .. if he doesn't make it I guess I can do a post mortem dip? sounds terrible huh?

Are you feeding any Nori on a clip for it, They need greenstuff to eat throughout the day. That may help can't hurt!

Kole Tang are very prone to those parasites and fungus in my opinion. From all the ones I've seen have that type of issue. You really have to isolate it since it is a parasite or a fungus cause it will spread! Do a freshwater dip for no more then 5 min if I remembered right, been a long time since I did freshwater dips. BUT do keep an eye on him if he gets stressed out in anyway, you need to remove him back into his QT tank. I never have much luck into keeping Kole Tang, the last one did real good for me until I make'em eat bryopsis and they did and both mini-tangs (Kole and Tomini) wouldn't take food from me afterward.....And I've had that Tomini for almost 3 years....
