I took the Tunze Plunge and have questions

I purchased two 6055 for my new 50 - 65 gallon three penninsula tank. Kind of like a surge tank without the surge.

Just some questions and so far im impressed just from putting the 6055's together.

When i got them i had to snap the front part with the output onto the pump housing. Is it supposed to snap together tightly or lock in? It seems like it just lines up and the c clamp holds it together. without the clamp i can pull it apart pretty easily.


Next question the 7096 will run a nano wave box and two 6055. Is it synchronized or can you set nano wave box and the pumps to work seperately?

Like the wave box creates a wave every two min and 6055 are rotating.

Last question do the nano stream rocks cut down on the flow of the pumps ?

They do pull apart easily, my testing guideline is I should be able to hold the pump by the front cover, of course I have my other hand ready to catch the motor if it falls when i do this test. Early prototypes required 45 Newtons to pull the front cover off and this was too much, consumers were unaware they could open the pumps, so we reduced it and it is now about 15 Newtons, just a light pull. If they just fall off something is wrong but it should take very little effort to pull it off.

Yes, you can run the 6055 and 6206 independently on the 7096

The Nano Stream rocks will not impede the flow.

I still cant beleive such a small pump works so much better then the controlable koralia's

FWIW, the 6055 was something we even considered impossible. When the Nano Stream concept was first proposed, I told Axel that we needed a controllable version and he got very anxious and said it was impossible the electronics wouldn't fit and who would pay $200 for such a tiny pump. He warmed up to the idea because it was a challenge and figured no one else could make it smaller or better and about 6 months later we had a working prototype.

The 7096 is on track we should have it for March, the only thing that is up in the air is support for OS X, which will come but it may not be ready on release day.

Not to hijack, but this is excellent (as a Mac owner) to hear! That controller has a nice price-point. Will be interesting to see what the software connection enables!
